Place in Kelly Bray, near Callington
Kelly Bray is just one mile from the charming market
town of Callington. In 1267 Henry III granted Callington a market
charter as a means of raising funds for the rebuilding of Westminster
Abbey. This meant Callington could have a weekly market and annual
fair, which is now once again an established tradition.
Callington has bowling, football, rugby and cricket clubs as well
as St Mellion Golf and Country Club just three miles away,
famous for its Jack Nicklaus course. The town has a primary school,
Community College and Sixth Form College as well as a doctor's surgery.
Plymouth, only fifteen miles away, offers a wide variety of nightlife,
with its clubs, theatres and restaurants. Launceston, with its 11th
century castle, and Tavistock, also steeped in history, are both
only a short drive away through areas of great natural beauty.
